Norbulingka

Year: 2025

Soft rays of light filtered through the trees, weaving their way between Tibetan prayer flags, as I stepped onto the narrow path leading into Norbulingka – a centre for Tibetan culture and craftsmanship in exile, in the small town of Dharamsala, India.
Sky, wind, fire, water, earth. Every sense was sharpened – and at the same time, at peace. The eye followed delicate lines, drawn with quiet precision on paper. The ear tuned in to the rhythm of the looms. The hand met warm wood, carved with care. In the air, there was something something beyond the reach of the senses.
